MIA, London life

So I’ve been pretty MIA on here, life is crazy and busy and I barely have time to breathe..

However I made a promise to myself I would put an effort into my blog and actually stick this through. It was my birthday yesterday and I treated myself to a new iPhone wooo…

My boyfriend took me to the Oblix restaurant in the Shard for dinner the night before and despite our initial wait for our table, everything was amazing, food was incredible as were the cocktails. The view obviously is one of the best you’ll find in London, in one direction you’ve got Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf and on the other you’ve got St Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye and Big Ben. I honestly can’t fault a thing about the service and was given a cute plate with some ice cream and shortbread, with a candle and happy birthday on it, just a nice little extra touch. I ended up getting the lamb as my main and the flavours were amazing, more of Moroccan style flavours harrisa and yoghurt, the meals were expensive but they were well proportioned and I definitely didn’t leave hungry.

Last night however I wanted to try this little Afghanistan restaurant on our high street called Ariana 2.. oh my god was it good, so cheap as well, £32 for our whole meal and we ate so much to the point where I honestly could not eat another bite and had to get my food to take away because I didn’t want to leave it. For obvious reasons the restaurant didn’t serve alcohol (not a big issue for us) but you could byo if you wanted to. I’ve never really eaten middle eastern style food before but honestly the flavours are incredible, everything tasted so fresh and every bite was an explosion in your mouth. Cannot wait to go back.

As far as my birthday goes, I ate some of the best food I’ve ever eaten and I spent it with my love in one of the best cities in the world. I am one happy girl!

P.S I’m so bad at taking photos of food because I am just too keen to eat it hahaha
