11 of My Must Read Books

Hey Guys!

I know my posts haven’t been super well thought out and planned out and in-depth but honestly I’m back at home, I see my family like once every two years so I’m literally just hanging out and enjoying my time home. I’ll be back in Perth in 2 weeks and back to reality and I should actually have the time to sit down an actually type a proper post out – I have so many planned about this holiday and about everything else in life! But for now here’s another quick post on 11 books I think everyone should read!

  1. Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – Gail Honeyman (This book is so good, it makes you think about what people may or may not have gone through and that it’s important to have good people in your life)
  2. Then She Was Gone – Lisa Jewell
  3. A Handmaids Tale – Margaret Atwood
  4. Gone Girl –  Gillian Flynn
  5. The Harry Potter Series – Jk Rowling
  6. The Tenth Circle – Jodi Picoult (I was obsessed with this book as a teenager, it’s so sad and really makes you think)
  7. Milk and Honey – Rupi Kaur (A book of poems, but like they’re all amazing and relevant to today’s life)
  8. Elena Vanishing – Elena and Clare B. Dunkle (Guys this one is pretty intense, it’s a memoir from a girl who suffered from anorexia and her journey with the disease)
  9. My Sister’s Keeper – Jodi Picoult
  10. The Pact – Jodi Picoult
  11. Pride and Prejudice –  Jane Austin

These books have gotten me through so much, I could read them 1000 times and never get bored. Everyone should read these all at least once in their life.

A-Z About Me!

Hey Guys!

Just quickly, this week is a super busy week for me, we’ve got 3 flights at the end of the week, 2 of which are long haul (heading back to Aus omg) and so I have a couple of quick posts going up this week but hopefully should be back to posting better quality content next week!

Anyway, I saw Steph from Steff’s Journey do this and I loved reading hers and thought it was such a good idea so I wanted to do one myself!

A  is for adventure, I love going away and travelling and any new adventures!

B is for Breakfast at Tiffany’s which is my all time favourite movie!

C is for coffee, I literally live for coffee, honestly can’t begin to human and function until I’ve had my coffee.

D is for dogs, I love dogs, I can’t wait to get back to Aus and into our own house so we can get a puppy

E is for eating, I honestly love eating, food is life

F is for friendship, friends are so important to me, I’ve spent the last two year’s away from my closest friends and it has been really hard on me.

G is for gin, gin is love, gin is life.

H is for home, I am so excited for my boyfriend and I to move back into our house and to be able to decorate and just have our own space. One year until we can.

K is for KFC, which is my favourite fast food chain oops

23 Things I’ve Learnt in 23 Years.

Hey Guys!

Today is my 23rd birthday, kind of relishing in the fact it’s my 23rd birthday on the 23rd date, oh and you know, I’m also in Barcelona! Well I mean technically I’m on my way from Barcelona to Sevillie but, anyway, I’m in Spain. I wanted to do a special post today, 23 things I’ve learnt in 23 years! Here goes!

  1. It’s okay to make mistakes, even huge monumental, life-changing ones! I’ve made so many huge mistakes in my life, but I honestly would not be in the relationship I am, with the life that I have, if I hadn’t made those mistakes!
  2. Don’t take your friendships for granted. I spent the last two years on the other side of the world to all my friends but one and it has been so hard not having those friends close by. Probably the hardest thing about living in London.
  3. No relationship is perfect! Relationships are work, you have to constantly communicate and the moment you stop talking things go wrong.
  4. Travel as much as you can!
  5. Take risks, it’s okay if things don’t work out 100% like you wanted!
  6. Eat what you want and be happy, your self-worth isn’t based on a number on a scale as long as you’re healthy and happy that’s all that matters.
  7. Love wholeheartedly, don’t be scared of getting hurt.
  8. You don’t have to be friends with someone who you don’t want to.
  9. Always stop to appreciate the beauty around you – literally stop to smell the flowers, stare at the sky, enjoy nature it’s beautiful
  10. Drink water, all of the water
  11. A good skincare routine will change your life
  12. Invest in good olive oil, it’ll change your life
  13. Avoid touristy areas when travelling when eating, stick to side streets and away from the centre, the food will be better and cheaper!
  14. Always be nice to the people serving you
  15. Never settle for anything that doesn’t make you happy
  16. Set a budget for your travels and then add another couple of thousand, enjoy your holiday and indulge, so you’re left with no regrets – but don’t put it on credit always have the cash in hand!
  17. Appreciate your parents, they worked so hard to give you everything in life.
  18. Always work your hardest, even if you hate your job, you never know when you’re gonna need to ask something of an old boss or colleague!
  19. Alway’s say thank you – manners are so important
  20. Take all the photos, ask for people to take photos of you, take selfies! Memories are everything!
  21. Planning is important, but also life changes unexpectedly – one moment you could be planning to finish uni and apply for medical school and the next minute you’re moving overseas for two years, things change, embrace it!
  22.  If you don’t want to drink on a night out, don’t
  23. Live your life exactly how you want! It’s your life don’t let someone else dictate how you live your own life!

Sarcastic, driven and caring

5. What is your biggest blogging accomplishment so far?
Ummmmm probably that time I got like 60 views in a day #tinybloglife

6. What piece of advice would you give to a new blogger just starting up?
My advice would be to blog about what you want, it’s your blog, it’s your place to go and write, don’t feel like there’s any pressure to stick to one topic or for it to be anything but what you want!

7. Favourite place you’ve travelled too and why?
Anddddd we have another hard one, I’ve honestly been so many places – but I think that it honestly has to be Florence and Tuscany – I first went to Florence with school in 2011 and completely fell in love with the place and then last year I went back with my boyfriend and we spent some time in the Tuscan countryside and its honestly so beautiful!

8. One food item/meal you’re loving right now?
Ummmmm, so I’m essentially addicted to anything with truffle literally gimmie truffle anything! We had some amazing truffle cheese when we were in Pula and some truffle salami when we were in Split omg pretty much drooling right now just thinking about it.

9. Best thing about blogging?
My favourite thing about blogging is having an outlet for things, I love being able to write about experiences and places I’ve been and things that I’m loving or hating!

10. Early bird or night owl?
Probably more of an early bird, I was always a night owl until my last job when I got used to being up at 5:30 and now I’m usually awake really early in the mornings and to be honest I prefer it!

11. What makes you happy?
The thing that makes me happiest is honestly just hanging out with my boyfriend, he’s just the best.

May Monthly Faves!

Hi guys! I’m back again for another monthly faves post! This month I don’t have much to talk about because I’m currently travelling and so I’m not using really anything new or that I haven’t talked about before, but I do have some things! You’ll also have to excuse the lighting in the photos, they’re quick ones I’ve snapped on my phone!

Skincare

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo – This is actually my second bottle of it this month, I started off with the tropical scented one and I liked that one more, but they’re exactly the same and my current saving grace when it comes to my hair!
  • Original Source Body Lotion – so Lachy and I only ever use the body wash from this brand and I love them because they smell amazing, however, I’ve never used this body lotion before and it’s my new fave! It’s really the most hydrating lotion I have ever used, my legs/arms are honestly looking so much more hydrated from this and it works almost instantly. You’ll literally feel the difference as soon as the stuff dries into the skin, it’s amazing. The sad thing is, I’ve looked on Australian shopping websites and I’m not sure if I can get it there ahhhh someone send me a box of it please!
  •  Body Shop White Musk fragrance – this fragrance is light and summery and it’s exactly what I wanted for our holiday!
  • And lastly is the makeup bag I bought from Oliver Bonus – I love it, just think it’s adorable! It’s also huge so it fits all my skincare products and makeup brushes in there, super handy

Books

So I’ve had a lot of time to read this month which has been nice, but so far the two books I have loved the most are:

  • Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, Gail Honeyman – This book will have you reading just to find out what happened to Eleanor. It takes you on a journey through her realising that having people in your life is okay and it really goes into the best and the worst of humankind. I loved this so much and was actually really sad to finish it,
  • A Handmaids Tale, Margaret Atwood – So this book has been made into a series which I haven’t seen but did make me want to pick it up and so when I saw it at the checkout of Daunt Books I just had to add it to my collection, and oh my does it have me captivated. I am yet to finish this book but it’s so interesting to read about a lifestyle that could very well be real but so different from the one I lead myself and these women who were used to living life the way we live today to be thrown into a new lifestyle where their worth in society is based entirely on their ability to have children. As soon as I finish this, I’m going to suss out the series!

And that my friends, is all I have for this months monthly faves. June’s monthly faves will probably be similar in what I have because I am still travelling, but all should return to normal in July when I am back in Australia!
