Today is my 23rd birthday, kind of relishing in the fact it’s my 23rd birthday on the 23rd date, oh and you know, I’m also in Barcelona! Well I mean technically I’m on my way from Barcelona to Sevillie but, anyway, I’m in Spain. I wanted to do a special post today, 23 things I’ve learnt in 23 years! Here goes!
It’s okay to make mistakes, even huge monumental, life-changing ones! I’ve made so many huge mistakes in my life, but I honestly would not be in the relationship I am, with the life that I have, if I hadn’t made those mistakes!
Don’t take your friendships for granted. I spent the last two years on the other side of the world to all my friends but one and it has been so hard not having those friends close by. Probably the hardest thing about living in London.
No relationship is perfect! Relationships are work, you have to constantly communicate and the moment you stop talking things go wrong.
Travel as much as you can!
Take risks, it’s okay if things don’t work out 100% like you wanted!
Eat what you want and be happy, your self-worth isn’t based on a number on a scale as long as you’re healthy and happy that’s all that matters.
Love wholeheartedly, don’t be scared of getting hurt.
You don’t have to be friends with someone who you don’t want to.
Always stop to appreciate the beauty around you – literally stop to smell the flowers, stare at the sky, enjoy nature it’s beautiful
Drink water, all of the water
A good skincare routine will change your life
Invest in good olive oil, it’ll change your life
Avoid touristy areas when travelling when eating, stick to side streets and away from the centre, the food will be better and cheaper!
Always be nice to the people serving you
Never settle for anything that doesn’t make you happy
Set a budget for your travels and then add another couple of thousand, enjoy your holiday and indulge, so you’re left with no regrets – but don’t put it on credit always have the cash in hand!
Appreciate your parents, they worked so hard to give you everything in life.
Always work your hardest, even if you hate your job, you never know when you’re gonna need to ask something of an old boss or colleague!
Alway’s say thank you – manners are so important
Take all the photos, ask for people to take photos of you, take selfies! Memories are everything!
Planning is important, but also life changes unexpectedly – one moment you could be planning to finish uni and apply for medical school and the next minute you’re moving overseas for two years, things change, embrace it!
If you don’t want to drink on a night out, don’t
Live your life exactly how you want! It’s your life don’t let someone else dictate how you live your own life!
Hi guys! I’m back again for another monthly faves post! This month I don’t have much to talk about because I’m currently travelling and so I’m not using really anything new or that I haven’t talked about before, but I do have some things! You’ll also have to excuse the lighting in the photos, they’re quick ones I’ve snapped on my phone!
Batiste Dry Shampoo – This is actually my second bottle of it this month, I started off with the tropical scented one and I liked that one more, but they’re exactly the same and my current saving grace when it comes to my hair!
Original Source Body Lotion – so Lachy and I only ever use the body wash from this brand and I love them because they smell amazing, however, I’ve never used this body lotion before and it’s my new fave! It’s really the most hydrating lotion I have ever used, my legs/arms are honestly looking so much more hydrated from this and it works almost instantly. You’ll literally feel the difference as soon as the stuff dries into the skin, it’s amazing. The sad thing is, I’ve looked on Australian shopping websites and I’m not sure if I can get it there ahhhh someone send me a box of it please!
Body Shop White Musk fragrance – this fragrance is light and summery and it’s exactly what I wanted for our holiday!
And lastly is the makeup bag I bought from Oliver Bonus – I love it, just think it’s adorable! It’s also huge so it fits all my skincare products and makeup brushes in there, super handy
So I’ve had a lot of time to read this month which has been nice, but so far the two books I have loved the most are:
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, Gail Honeyman – This book will have you reading just to find out what happened to Eleanor. It takes you on a journey through her realising that having people in your life is okay and it really goes into the best and the worst of humankind. I loved this so much and was actually really sad to finish it,
A Handmaids Tale, Margaret Atwood – So this book has been made into a series which I haven’t seen but did make me want to pick it up and so when I saw it at the checkout of Daunt Books I just had to add it to my collection, and oh my does it have me captivated. I am yet to finish this book but it’s so interesting to read about a lifestyle that could very well be real but so different from the one I lead myself and these women who were used to living life the way we live today to be thrown into a new lifestyle where their worth in society is based entirely on their ability to have children. As soon as I finish this, I’m going to suss out the series!
Eleanor Oilphant is Completely Fine
The Handmaid’s Tale
And that my friends, is all I have for this months monthly faves. June’s monthly faves will probably be similar in what I have because I am still travelling, but all should return to normal in July when I am back in Australia!
Today I thought about the Youtubers I spend a crazy amount of time watching! I’m the kind of person who will literally only watch the same things over and over again, so these are the 6 channels I will always swap between!
So I only got onto the Zoella bandwagon this year, yes I know I’m so far behind the world, but like I said I literally only watch the same things again so it’s really hard for me to start watching someone new, and really I only got into the world of vlogging this year!
I honestly love watching Zoella, on both her main channel and her vlogging channel, isn’t she really just the most lovable human? I find her honesty about her struggles with anxiety really hits home and hearing her talk about how she is working on it and how she can do things she never used to imagine doing is really inspiring. Also like I am 100% jealous of her house and her fricken conservatory is goals!
I mean who doesn’t like a nail art channel that very rarely does nail art anymore?? Nah but really Cristine’s videos I do find super entertaining with some of the stuff she does and it’s always a satisfying bonus when she does chuck that rare nail art video up! I also really like her “stay in school” message and promotion of education because it really is super important!
Safiya’s videos are always entertaining, whether she is wearing ridiculous outfits for a week or melting a whole heap of makeup together to form some Frankenstein concoction. There is always something super funny and her videos are always super entertaining!
Glam Life Guru (AKA Tati Westbrook) is probably my favourite makeup channel to watch, she posts 5 times a week (Monday-Friday) so you’re never short of something to watch and she is just super honest and I think because she has no affiliates or she’s never really sponsored by brands you know you can trust what she recommends and I absolutely love it when she’s using her boujee makeup that is honestly just ridiculously priced but yeah she’s just really good to watch!
And yeah these are the 6 youtube channels I probably spend most my time on, I watch a couple more channels but these are the ones I have switched the little notification bell for and really like to spend my downtime watching!
What about you guys, who are your fave Youtubers!?
